How to Play: Explore Careers

Our online jobs activity guides students through three progressive learning stages:

  • Step 1: Preview & Listen – Browse through sets of jobs. Hover to see the title and click to hear the pronunciation. This is where you choose which group to practice.
  • Step 2: Matching Game – Match 8 job titles with their corresponding images to build your vocabulary foundation.

Why Teachers Choose This Jobs Resource

Teachers recommend this occupations game because of its visual diversity and range. With 102 jobs, it moves far beyond basic roles like "teacher" or "doctor" to include modern professions like "web developer" and "personal trainer." The inclusion of silhouettes and sentence-building tasks helps students practice functional English by connecting a job title to its specific purpose. It is a fantastic tool for Cambridge A2 Key (KET) and B1 Preliminary (PET) students practicing for speaking and writing tasks related to work and life.

Classroom Tips

After playing, have students choose a job from the list and describe it to a partner without saying the name (e.g., "This person helps people with their hair"). For more practice with verbs related to daily routines, try our Vocab Game, or practice describing people with the Monster Game.
